Jane Macmanamin : ウィキペディア英語版 | Jane Macmanamin Jane Macmanamin (c.1833 – 4 February 1862) lived in Ireland until she migrated to South Australia in 1855. She lived the remainder of her life in South Australia. Newspaper reports of the time almost all spell her surname (incorrectly) as "Macmenimen".〔State Records (South Australia), GRG 5/2/1862/1740, enclosure 510, letter from Margaret Macmanamin to W.A. Carter. Margaret's handwriting clearly shows that she had a better-than-average education. Her writing is clear and completely legible, and her spelling is perfect. In that letter she spells her surname "Macmanamin".〕 ==Early life== At the age of 22 Jane, together with her sister Margaret, 21, migrated to South Australia. They sailed to the colony aboard the ship ''Velocity'', and the passenger lists for that voyage show that prior to migration they had been living in County Tyrone.〔Official Passenger Lists, mainly of immigrants arriving in South Australia under United Kingdom assisted passage schemes, 1845, 1847–1886, State Library of South Australia, Mortlock Library Reference Number 313 (List Number 55/22). N.B.: On the original passenger list the spelling of Jane and Margaret's surname has been corrected to "Macmanamin".〕
